Hemodynamic forces in left and right heart failure

Project: Dissertation

Project Details

Description

The purpose of my doctoral project is to increase the understanding of patophysiological mechanisms in heart failure, with the long-term aim of improving diagnosis and treatment evaluation. The studies focus on analysis of intracardiac blood flow by measuring hemodynamic forces using 4D flow magnetic resonance imaging. Hemodynamic force analysis is a method for quantifying blood flow patterns in three spatial dimension throughout the cardiac cycle, which has the potential of being a sensitive marker for systolic and diastolic function.
