The encounters between the individual(s) of the home and nursing students are cultural events where the nursing students, in principle, are in unknown territory. The aim of this study is to illuminate how nursing students’ understanding of a ‘home' influences professional meetings in homecare, illustrated by nursing students with another ethnic background than Danish in a Danish homecare context. The study is based on eight individual semi-structured interviews with nursing students in Denmark who have a self-appointed ethnic background other than Danish.
