Description
My dissertation is about the many ways in which feminist movement and activism in Egypt use human rights as politics post-2011. Through fieldwork I analyze several empirical examples of significant events with focus on feminists' work with the constitution during 2011-2013 as well as how feminists navigate the more restricted public space after June 2013. Theoretically, I use feminist legal theory, social movement theory, post colonial feminism with focus on equality, human rights and politics.
