Project Details

Description

This programme develops research on national aspects of human rights and obligations in Sweden and other Nordic countries regarding children, the elderly, indigenous peoples and minorities. It extends to comparisons with countries in Europe concerning the implementation and compliance with various commitments made through accession to international treaties such as the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and the European Convention on Human Rights. It covers questions about how Sweden and other Nordic countries could strengthen their protection of human rights by actively contributing to the elaboration of new international treaties and other instruments for the benefit of groups such as the elderly or to respond to new challenges such as climate change, digitalization, AI, and other new technologies and their impact on human rights in Sweden and other Nordic countries.
