Integration of advanced mass spectrometry and artificial intelligence with clinical data for the identification, diagnosis and subphenotyping of sepsis

The objective of this proposal is to create a national digital biobank comprised of samples from the national patient-centered health care pathway collected at several sites in Sweden using rapid proteomics, peptidomics and metabolomics. Based on this digital biobank, we aim to develop new knowledge-based and personalized strategies using explainable AI and a digital twin approach and markers to improve stratification of patients with suspected sepsis at the time of admission to the emergency department.
