Description

The main objective of this proposal is to understand possible relationships between the artwork as a real object and digitized artifacts, by developing a new methodology based on the 3D engineering process - i.e. 3D modeling, scanning, digital 2D photography documentation. In addition, I intend to establish the example model, as well as possible workflow instructions for artwork according to what type of medium and digital platform is targeted according to the environment. This project focuses on mainly two types of scanning techniques. In this scope, this presentation aims to provide a clear overview and description of the main guidelines and comparison used to capture and process 3D digital data, as well as to present a result as another type of documentation compared to 2D photographic documentation commonly used. Furthermore, the project aims to understand the core engineering of the technique, thus it aims to reuse and repurpose the knowledge and algorithm used to complete an independent platform for institutional or individuals use.
