Description

This project studies the development of the legal profession in Iran before and after the 1979 Revolution. By conducting semi-structured interviews with Iranian lawyers, it describes how they view their professional bar association, advocacy, legal services, and their troubled relationship with the judiciary. It accounts for the obstacles they encounter daily and what it means to work with professional integrity within a legal system which does not have the public’s confidence.
