Project Details

Description

The project is a collaboration between Blekinge Museum and Södertörn University. It gathers several smaller projects linked to The newly discovered Iron Age settlement and ritual centre Västra Vång and the landscape along the Johannishusåsen esker.

The project seeks not only to examine and excavate the settlement, but also to explore novel ways of communicating archaeology, scientific methods and reasoning and cultural heritage as a contemporary strategy in local communities. Besides the archaeological and scientific, artistic research is an ongoing theme, especially landscape photography. Here we have been collaborating with Malmö University (Sabina Jallow) and the photography master programme at IUAV, Venice (Stefano Graziani).
