J. J. Björnståhl, traveler and orientalist

I participate in a research project, led by Johan Stenstrom and funded by the Swedish Research Council for the traveler and orientalist J.J. Björnståhl (1731 to 1779). He was the first European who traveled for research purposes to Thessaly. My subject area covers his vision of Greece and the Greek language and the postcolonial perspective on what is presented as alien.
