Project Details
Description
This project will contribute with improved understanding of the current discussion on and expectations of Small Modular Reactors (SMRs), public opinion and in-depth understanding of actors’ expectations and valuation of SMRs. Evidence based communication strategies are developed, contributing to governance of SMRs in local
societies. In contrast to top-down approaches, this project seeks to develop communication strategies for inclusion of groups in an early stage in order to contribute to socially sustainable processes. The proposed three-year research
project is divided into three work packages where the emerging image of SMRs and the actors involved in shaping the image in Swedish media are analyzed as well as public opinion and central actors' valuation and acceptance of
SMRs. Finally, communication strategies are developed. The results are relevant for authorities, companies, interest organizations, media and an interested public.
