The project summarises studies on memory, memorials, monuments, canon, cultural heritage and World Heritage. It discusses how places of memory are established and changed. Studies on the meaning of the past, on memorials of archaeological finds and excavations, on Early Modern memorials and the relocation of a rune-stone have been conducted.The project summarises several studies on memory, memorials, monuments, canons, cultural heritage and World heritage. Both inspired by - and in contradiction to - the French historian Pierre Nora, it discusses how places of memory are established and changed. Studies on rune-stones, memorials of archaeological finds, Early Modern and Modern memorials have been conducted. At present a study of the Danish "Reuinion stones" is conducted.
