The project includes the studiey of fossil so-called melanosomes, a kind of pigment-bearing organelles that are found in skin, hair, feathers and eyes of most organisms. By studying shape and molecular composition of these organelles we aim to recreate some of the colouration of various long-extinct species, including amphibians, fish, and birds.
