Monitoring mechanical ventilation using particles in exhaled air in acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) and ex vivo lung perfusion (ECMO)

Project: Research

Project Details

Description

The optimal mechanical ventilation settings in the different phases is an area of intense debate. The main method for monitoring airways is by pressure, volume and airflow. Monitoring airways by analyzing different particle flows online from the small airways has never been done before, but may provide real-time insight into the effect of changes in mechanical ventilation parameters before changes in conventional parameters can be detected.
In the present study we focus on lung failure as ARDS and the impact on VA and V ECMO
