The project seeks to answer the question: Why are certain verbs felicitous in a given construction, yet other similar verbs are not? The project examines the lexical-constructional field of ‘ROB-STEAL’. Method: Corpus-driven, employing advanced multivariate statistics. Theory: Construction Grammar (Fillmore & al. 1988, Goldberg 1995) and Cognitive Linguistics (Lakoff 1987, Langacker 1987).
