Description
Nordic Journal of Health Economics (NJHE) is a new scientific journal within the field of Health Economics, with the first two numbers released in 2012. The journal is a Nordic collaboration and initiative, supported and founded by key Nordic health economists as reflected in the list of editors and editorial board. It has a solid ground in the Nordic Health Economists’ Study Group (www.nhesg.org) which was founded in 1980 and has arranged an annual meeting since then. The foundations of the journal have been constructed by Hans Olav Melberg at the University of Oslo with the set-up of the journal web-site and publishing the first issues. Since the fall of 2012, the management of NJHE has gradually been moved to Sweden, where the Editorial Office now consists of Ulf-G Gerdtham (Chief Editor), Åsa Ljungvall (Managing Editor) and Katarina Steen Carlsson (Advisor and Editorial Board member) at Lund University. The journal has a lot of potential and we now aim to develop the journal further, into a high-class and well-considered open access journal. The Nordic Journal of Health Economics publishes empirical and theoretical research within the field of Health Economics. We aim to focus broadly and invite contributions on health economic topics from researchers both inside and outside of the Nordic countries. Special but not exclusive attention is given to topics that are relevant to the Nordic setting and to Nordic research agendas.
