Description

The study and investigation of how to construct physical bounds for MIMO antennas and antennas in complex media. Current optimization is used to formulate convex optimization problems that can be solved numerically for optimal performance. These optimization problems give physical insight into what modal currents are effective for different design metrics.

Layman's description

Finding the best possible performance for advanced antennas used in modern communication systems. Antennas are often allotted a certain space to be designed in. The optimal performance for any antenna in a given space is found by optimizing the currents that could be excited inside that space.
