Description
Peripheral nerve injuries are injuries that pose various challenges to patients. Impairments can range from mild discomfort to severe disabilities and lifelong pain. The objective outcomes after surgically treated peripheral nerve injuries are well described. However, the subjective outcomes reported by the patients themselves are hard to come by, particularly in a larger population.
The aim of the project is to map out surgically treated peripheral nerve injuries, including digital nerve injuries as well as median and ulnar nerve injuries, in Sweden. The goal is to identify if there are any patient groups more likely to suffer from these injuries; including a variety of socioeconomic factors. The project will examine subjective and objective outcomes after injury as well as explore if there are any factors that could predict functional outcomes of specific patient groups.
