Please Be Patient: Space, Time and Embodiment in Haemodialysis and Transplantation Care

Medical technologies not only create new cures, but they also orient persons in general and patients in particular to understand themselves and their bodies in certain ways. In the dissertation such processes are studied through an ethnographical study of the two therapies - dialysis and kidney transplantation - that are available for persons who suffer from kidney failure.
