A research project to investigate the prevalence of serious bacterial infections in febrile infants ≤60 days of age, to describe the management of these infants in 4 geographically diverse pediatric emergency departments and identify possible variations. The ultimate aim of this project is to develop guidelines for safe management of febrile infants in Sweden, based on the disease probability and the patients characteristics of the Swedish settings.
