Description
Within the Division of Nuclear Physics, the experimental nuclear structure group at Lund University focuses on basic existence and structure of nuclei far from the line of stability. This research line combines cutting-edge methods to separate and identify the nuclei of interest, while high-resolution gamma-ray spectroscopy is our preferred tool to access their internal structure.
The PhD project focuses on employing novel isotope-separation concepts and new radiation detection systems to study nuclear systems close to or beyond the driplines. The new quality of spectroscopic information shall in turn lead to a better understanding of open many-body quantum systems.
