Relevance of Religious Social Teachings in the Urban Spaces

Northern Germany and Southern Sweden are both known for their secular character. They both have been shaped by migration, which created conditions of intense plurality, especially in urban contexts. In that way, the cities of Hamburg and Malmö became the places of exceptional exchange, but also clashes, of different worldviews and religious beliefs. By engaging with different perspectives, i.e. religious and secular, Protestant and Catholic, Swedish and German, urban and suburban, we want to explore two main questions: What does social diversity mean for a contemporary theology? And what is the relevance of Christian social ethics in an urban context?
