SamCity Project Agreement

Investigate the problems, obstacles and success factors for implementing coordinated goods distribution in the city of Malmö. The background to this project is that the proportion of people living in cities and their consumption is continuously increasing, while environmental demands and requests for traffic-free cities also are increasing. There is a big challenge for cities of the future to achieve a cost-effective and environmentally efficient distribution of goods. Along with including the city of Malmö, Malmö city collaboration, landlords, shops and transport industry operates Packaging Logistics a project where we study the implementation of an innovative business model for coordinated goods distribution with additional services in central Malmö. The project will contribute to a more attractive city with less congestion, noise, traffic safety, lower environmental impact, but also an extended service to retail and property owners.
