Technology adjusted carbon footprint as a climate policy tool

Project: Research

Project Details

Description

The project aims to demonstrate how the method of calculation of the carbon footprint can be used practically as a MRV tool to ensure that national climate contributes to the global reduction of emissions; that is, to reduce the risk of carbon leakage. The project should also identify sectors where foreign trade can contribute to more CO2 efficient global production, examine how the method affects some of the climate negotiations of key countries, in order to identify common interests and opportunities for new, constructive coalitions in the negotiations.
