Project Details
Description
We will use Very Long Baseline Interferometry (VLBI) observations to characterize the systematics of the Gaia reference frame in the bright regime (G<13). This helps to assess and improve the Gaia proper motions which has immediate applications to all research that uses the Gaia proper motions of bright stars.
Layman's description
This project will contribute to validating the data concerning bright stars and obtained from observations of the Gaia satellite.
