The effect of air pollution with heavy metals on health and labour market outcomes

In my thesis I first look at how air pollution with heavy metals (lead, cadmium, chromium, zinc, etc.) affects long-run outcomes of individuals in Sweden. I then analyze how a phaseout of leaded gasoline in Sub-Saharan African countries affected infant mortality rates. In the final chapter of the thesis I plan to study the effect of lead pollution on children's cognitive skills in SSA countries using phaseout of leaded gasoline to identify the effect.
