Description

We live in an age of genomics. Methods for sequencing large amounts of DNA are now available at reasonable prices, and protocols have been developed for even the most difficult of samples. The genomic revolution is slowly making its way into the museum world as well, in the form of museomics, but has so far not been used very much in the field of taxonomy. In this project we will integrate traditional morphological taxonomy with modern genomic resources in order to investigate the species level diversity of parasitic wasps in the genera Oomyzus and Quadrastichus (Eulophidae: Tetrastichinae). These genera have never been revised using a combination of morphological or molecular data, and it is highly likely that new species will be found in Sweden.
