The microbial role in deep soil sequestration in perennial agriculture

Project: Dissertation

Project Details

Description

Microorganism plays an important role in mediating soil carbon turnover, and the mechanism under different agricultural paradigm remain elusive. I am trying to determine how agricultural paradigms with perennial crops, supporting deep rhizospheres, can provide a means to both store C and maintain soil fertility. At the mean time, I want to figure out that how it differ in different depth. In addition, we also try to explore how limiting resources in soil and drought event affect microbial mediating process.
