Popular science description
In 1785 the Piranesi collection was bought for Gustav III of Sweden and brought from Rome to Stockholm. The c. 150 pieces represent a varied mix of ancient marbles, restored in the manner of the 18th century and endowed with far going enrichments typical of the original collector's fantastic vision of ancient aesthetics. The project aims analysis, contextualization and publication.
