The German-Swedish artist and writer Peter Weiss (1916 - 1982) is foremost acknowledged as a playwright with Marat/Sade (1964), and as a novelist with The Aesthetics of Resistance (1975 - 1981). During the 1950s he was a member of the Independent Film Group in Stockholm where he directed 14 film shorts and two feature films, and in addition to this published a monograph on avant-garde film.
The project aims to discuss the films of Peter Weiss and frame them within a context of production.
