Project: Research

Project Details

Description

The aim of this advertising history and digital history project is to analyze how the visual communication of the state and government agencies has changed during the Swedish welfare epoch from a rhetorical and aesthetic point-of-view. The project has two work packages. First, in collaboration with Lund University Library, posters made by Swedish government agencies between 1930–1990 will be identified and digitized. Second, this collection of posters will be examined using mixed methods, digital methods and qualitative methods, in order to produce new knowledge about an influential yet understudied type of visual culture. The project is funded by the Ridderstad Foundation.
