Project Details
Description
This pilot study aims to evaluate the safety, tolerability, and initial efficacy of psilocybin compared to standard Treatment as Usual (TAU) for young adults with anorexia nervosa (AN). The project also seeks to understand how psilocybin treats AN through self-reports, where participants describe their experiences during and after treatment using questionnaires and interviews, neurobiological assessments, such as blood tests to measure biological markers to assess psilocybin's impact, and neuroimaging techniques, such as advanced brain imaging to observe changes in brain activity and connectivity before and after treatment. Together, these methods aim to shed light on psilocybin's therapeutic effects on both psychological and biological levels.
