The tribunalization of violence, extractivism, and civilian victimization during conflicts

My PhD project at Lund University aims to understand how the growing threat of international prosecutions for atrocity crimes impact the behaviour that state actors and transnational extractive corporations adopt towards civilians in natural resources-rich conflict zones.
The project will combine an experimental large-N analysis at the micro-level with comparative case studies to uncover the possible transformative effects of international criminal justice on dynamics of violence.
