Transmission of HIV in the era of scaling up access to antiretroviral therapy in Ethiopia – improved strategies for case finding and treatment monitoring

This project, based on a large cohort study in Ethiopia, aims to investigate a range of issues related to HIV case finding, provision of care and antiretroviral treatment (ART) monitoring, as well as tuberculosis case finding among people with HIV in sub-Saharan Africa. We will specifically study how people with viremia during ART contribute to patterns of HIV transmission related to risk behavior, drug resistance, ART experience, and human genetics.
