Project Details
Description
The aim of the project is to enhance knowledge of how regional collaboration contributes to building capacity to achieve a fossil-free society. The project develops a framework for collaboration that provides tools to facilitate regional capacity. The framework is innovative as it combines knowledge from socio-technical systems research, studies of regional transition work and modelling of energy usage and greenhouse gas emissions. The project studies initiatives within Fossil-Free Sweden with an action-oriented and interdisciplinary approach that brings together three research fields: socio-technical transitions, sustainable regional development, and energy system studies focusing on modelling. Empirically, the project focuses on the transport, industry, as well as housing and services sectors. The project is carried out as three doctoral projects at Halmstad University, Lund University and Linköping University.
The project is part of the national graduate school in Energy systems which is funded by the Swedish Energy Agency.
