Abstract
This is a biography, based on the doctoral dissertation from 1980. It is the author’s conviction that the biography of a mystic should be available to the general public. A biography has a lasting value, while psychological interpretations may change. In Sweden, more popular presentations of scholarly research are regarded as a "third task", along with teaching and research.
