Abstract

The threatened estate - the memorails of Per Brahe junior
On the background of the present research on memorials and monuments follows a study of a number of memorials erected by the count Per Brahe junior between 1653 and 1680 on Visingsö and in Skärstad in Småland, at Dimbo in Västergötland and Östra Ryd in Uppland. The memorials belong to a period, when his county Visingsborg in Sweden and barony Kajana in Finland were threatened by reduction. The number of memorial stones grew with increasing demands on reduction during the 1670s.
