First text in bandwidth-efficient digital coded communication. Introduced the method of continuous phase modulation (CPM) coding, with full treatment of spectrum, minimum distance, trasnmitters and receivers.

J.B. Anderson is professor in digital communication at Lund Univ. He has served as President of the IEEE Information Theory Society and twice as Editor in Chief of IEEE Press. He won the Humboldt Research Prize in 1991, and is Fellow of the IEEE.
