Abstract
The is a review of Jonna Bornemark's book "Kroppslighetens mystik: en filosofisk läsning av Mechthild von Magdeburg", a book where she carries out a conversation with the 15th century beguin Mechthild via her texts; about central existential themes in connection with the bodily mystical experiences of Mechthild. Bornemark manages to do this with respect for Mechthild's own religious interpretations of her experiences, without adhering to them herself.
