Abstract

3D recording and visualization is standard practice at the Department of Archaeology and Ancient History at LU. This approach is currently used within several field projects to support documentation, data management and data analysis.

The 3D data collected in the field are archived in the faculty server and are made available to researchers and students through the Lund University Digital Archaeology Laboratory DARKLab website (www.darklab.lu.se).

The Interactive Reporting System for the Kämpinge Project was recently published online as a part of Paola Derudas' PhD project "Documenting, Interpreting, Publishing, Re-using". The main goal of this project is investigating new forms of archaeological reports. The system includes data collected across four years of investigation, and it has been customized to support field investigation in Sweden.

The Interactive Reporting System created for the Kämpinge Project will serve as a model for publishing several ongoing field investigations projects, currently under development at the Lund University Digital Archaeology Lab -DARKLab.
