Abstract
In this paper the common assumption that the limit of the body is its physical biological surface is problematized. It is suggested that what we refer to when we speak about a body is an undissolvable unit where conceptual and social construction interact with physical characteristics. Religious ideologies contain conceptual and social constructions limiting which bodies count as real men and women, public actors or religious leaders.
