Abstract
This book presents actual perspectives on Church History from different standpoints. It is the result of an academic conference on Ecclesiastical History in Stockholm, Feb. 27-28, 2008. The volume starts with a chronological section in which different research developments in Ancient, Medieval, Reformation and Modern Church History are demonstrated by authors from the Scandinavian countries and the U.K. The international cooperation in CIHEC and the evolution of Church History is presented. The concluding, thematic section deals with theory and empiry in Ecclesiastical History, the Church's responsibility for its history, Church History as theology, and the relevance of Church History for the future. The volume offers an introduction to the study of Church History as well as a presentation of different research problems in time and space.
