Abstract
Literature's ability to act - its performativity - is best shown in different performances, such as reading aloud, singing - in events. The different concepts and theories that form the foundation of an exploration of these performances in swedish culture in the period 1800 -2008 are presented, and also the organization of this exploration, eg a historical organization, structured according to different types of stages.
