Mäns våld mot kvinnor i nära relationer - och barn som upplever våld

Research output: Book/ReportReportResearch

Abstract

This report presents a summary of Swedish research and knowledge concerning men’s violence against women in intimate relationships. It also discusses children’s experiences of this violence. Various theoretical perspectives on men’s violence are illustrated. A structural perspective on men’s violence is described using concepts like gender, power and normalization of violence. Some interactionist-based theories concerning assaulted women’s resistance are also discussed. The report further gives attention to research about children who have experienced violence against their mothers. Also discussed are particularly vulnerable groups of women (refugees, immigrants, elderly women and women with functional disability).
