Abstract
A study related to the separations of uranium traces in a concentrated Pu solution and plutonium traces in a concentrated U solution was performed (with Pu/U or U/Pu = 102–105). Its objective was to determine the U–Pu separation performances for a low U and Pu concentration range, namely: Pu solutions of 2.5 mg L−1 to 2.5 g L−1 containing traces of U (25 µg L−1), U solutions of 10 µg L−1 to 10 mg L−1 containing traces of Pu (100 ng L−1). The developed methods proved to be efficient and its robustness was confirmed with the treatment of high-activity real samples.
