Abstract

The book serves as a comprehensive and professional guide on polymer gears design and production. It provides the reader with
an overview of the current developments in the field composite materials, testing, and applications of polymer gears. This includes
material development, tribological properties, simulations, and processing methods.
Due to their efficient mechanical properties, light weight, and low noise during operation, plastic gears are replacing metal gears
in traditional and new applications. However, due to a lack of material characterization and complex relations between different
geometrical and operating parameters, the development of polymer gears remains an open challenge.
