Secular Spirituality in Contemporary Sweden

Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

In this paper I will examine the interspace where new religious systems and practices in contemporary Sweden meet the secularized society and give rise to a new, enchanted cosmos. I will discuss how this meeting has generated a science-like concept, the potential concept, which I would refer to as a common used notion within contemporary neo-spirituality, since there are similarities between the notion of an inner soul and the potential concept. I will also argue that the emergence of this new concept in the interspace between secular and religious has made the modern and disenchanted Swede to a secular spiritualist and a ritual technician.
