Abstract
This paper gives an overview of recently published Swedish guidelines for service-life design of concrete structures. The guideline is based on the probabilistic methodology developed in the European project DuraCrete. The methodology has been further developed and applied to Swedish conditions. The design is based on the definition of several “maintenance classes” where the failure probability is chosen depending on the cost relations between investment and repair. Examples are given for design against reinforcement corrosion in marine environments.
