Abstract

Objectives: This is a protocol for a Cochrane Review (intervention). The objectives are as follows:. To determine the effects of systemic opioid analgesics in neonates (term or preterm) undergoing surgery, on mortality, pain and major neurodevelopmental disability, compared to placebo or no drug, non-pharmacological intervention, other opioids, or other analgesics or sedatives.
