Abstract
This article examines five arguments often used in scriptural hermeneutics (see, e.g., C. H. Cosgrove, Appealing to Scripture in Moral Debate: Five Hermeneutical Rules) and analyses in what way they are applied in the contemporary debate on homosexuality: (1) countercultural arguments,(2)analogies,(3) nonscientific scope,(4) purpose, and (5) the canonized pluralism in the Bible.
