Workshop in Milan, Italy: If on a winter’s night an architect

"If on a winter’s night an architect" was developed and presented within the Milano International Design Studio (MInDS) at Politecnico di Milano as an intensive workshop focused on model production.

The work was produced exclusively through physical models, understood not as representations of predefined designs but as tools for thinking. Through iterative processes of making, testing, and reconfiguration, participants developed architectural ideas as a sequence of beginnings rather than a linear progression toward a resolved outcome.

The exhibition presented a selection of these models, foregrounding process over result. Instead of a single coherent proposal, the work appeared as a series of parallel investigations, emphasizing variation, repetition, and transformation.

By exposing the provisional and open-ended nature of the work, the exhibition framed architecture as an exploratory practice in which meaning emerges through the continuous reworking of material and form.
